Band: Band denotes whether the antenna uses UHF or VHF
fequencies. Some antennas may use both. Although over 90%
of today's programming utilizes UHF, in some areas programming
may be broadcast in VHF. UHF antennas can generally pull in VHF
fequencies on the higher end of the spectrum (channels 7-13), but
programming on the low end may require a VHF specific antenna.
You should also know that you cannot tell by the channel
display on your television which frequency that channel is being
broadcast on. AntennasDirect.com can give you information on your areas television broadcasts.
Beamwidth:
Beamwidth is a measure of directionality. The wider the beamwidth
angle the less directional the antenna. and vice versa.
Diretionality: Directionality is related to beamwidth. A wider beamwidth will yield a less directional antenna.
Gain: Gain is a measure signal strength. A higher gain translates to a stronger signal.
